We are Reese and Brigitte - life long friends who have loved to sew from an early age. We've lived and worked together in Scotland, Canada, France, Switzerland - always with a sewing machine in tow. 

Our biggest joint project before Materialise was making Brigitte's amazing green silk wedding dress.

We love dusty old stuff and drinking fizz.  Brigitte lives the good life in the country with her beloved man, son and dogs.  Reese has a massive crush on Dave Grohl...and her mister of course, with whom she has two amazing sons.

Intrigued by the trend for sewing cafes sweeping across Europe, we thought Edinburgh needed a place to sew in, create, learn and share ideas in, shop for fabulous fabrics in, and so Materialise materialised.
