Post beginners - easy sundress

This sundress is a really simple pattern to draw and follow, but the magical thing you'll learn is shirring (a great trick to master).

You'll learn to draw a simple pattern to your own size, cut and pin fabric, and sew elastic shirring.

Then all you need is some sunshine to get your frock on and head for the beach!

Bring the following supplies:

• a length of lightweight fabric e.g. cotton lawn, cotton voile
• thread spool to match your fabric

To determine the length of fabric you'll need, measure from your chest to how long you'd like your dress to be e.g. to the knee, to the ankle.  Add approximately 2" to allow for hemming and shirring.

You'll get the most out of this workshop if you have some sewing machine skills already.  If you've never used a sewing machine before, we recommend you try one of our Absolute Beginner workshops first.
